Paul Atkinson is an industrial designer, design educator and design historian working in the School of Art & Design at the University of Huddersfield in the UK. He currently oversees the areas of Product Design, Transport Design and Design History and Context, and directs the School’s research activity. He has previously published a number of articles around the history of computing and computing technology as well as editing a recent special issue of the journal of design history called ‘Do It Yourself: Democracy and Design’, which was accompanied by a successful touring exhibition.
